Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14 in 1980) is an American actor, singer as well as a dancer. She started her Broadway career in musicals such as Wicked, Legally Blonde, and Hair. In You Can't Take It With You, she won the Tony Award as Best Featured actress in the Play. Annaleigh Ashley, Tony Award winning actor and actress, has worked with directors, actors, and other performers both on screen and stage for all of her career. Ashford is next seen opposite Kumail Nannjiani in Robert Siegel's Hulu Limited series Welcome to Chippendales premiering November 22. Ashford is currently working for Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust which stars Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. This film is a Hulu Original and will be streaming on Disney DTC. Ashford will return to Broadway in the month of March 2023 in which he'll be starring alongside Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production takes place in the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail as director and Jeffrey Seller as producer will be the creative team for the musical. Ashford appeared as Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy's American Crime Story Impeachment, based off the scandal which was involving Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp during the national crisis. She was also the lead in two seasons of CBS Comedy B Positive. The show was created by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre the show also starred famous performers Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No new to Broadway Ashford was awarded the Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her portrayal of Essie In You Can't Take It with You. Sunday in the Park with George Wicked legally blonde and the original role of Lauren in Kinky Boots were among her other Broadway roles. Ashford is an Denver resident who splits her time between Los Angeles.
