David Muir is an American anchor and journalist best known for his ABC newscast World News Tonight with David Muir and for the ABC News magazine 20/20, for where he acts as anchorman and co-anchor. One of the most watched newscasts in America is his program that features a dramatic mix of video clips and animated gestures. He is also known for his Emmy-nominated series Made In America. He was his predecessor Diane Sawyer's main replacement anchor before he took over ABC World News Tonight. He's reported on a variety of evening specials on primetime ABC News some recent ones include Breaking Point: Heroin in America and Flashpoint The Refugee Crisis in America. He has travelled around the globe to report on stories that concern Gaza Egypt Iran Somalia Japan Peru Ukraine Haiti and the Gulf of Mexico. His accolades include several Edward R. Murrow Awards and honors by the Associated Press.
